About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Consumer Gen AI Product Machine Learning Engineering team at Snap. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative ML products and AI-driven features that serve millions of Snapchat users daily. Your primary focus will be on creating advanced image and video generation and editing tools, leveraging large language models (LLMs), and building augmented reality experiences using diffusion and flow matching models. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Software Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science to prototype, integrate, and refine AI models, ensuring rapid deployment and continuous improvement based on user feedback and market research. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the future of GenAI within a dynamic environment, contributing to products that are used by a global audience.

Qualifications
- Strong background in Machine Learning and Deep Learning
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field
- Experience in neural rendering, generative models, segmentation, object detection, classification, or tracking
- Knowledge of computer graphics foundations (preferred)
- Experience with visual Gen AI models for image and video generation/editing (preferred)
- Familiarity with evaluating the visual quality of AI models
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and lead complex technical initiatives
- Passion for staying current with research and rapidly prototyping new ideas
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning products and AI lenses that serve millions of Snapchat users daily, focusing on image and video generation, editing, and LLMs
- Create cutting-edge augmented reality experiences utilizing diffusion and flow matching models
- Build and optimize state-of-the-art GenAI pipelines for consumer-facing applications, ensuring rapid delivery within weeks
- Collaborate extensively with Product, Software Engineering, Lens Content, and Data Science teams to prototype, integrate, and refine ML models and APIs
- Monitor the latest developments in GenAI research and market trends to evaluate open-source models and third-party AI APIs/services
- Conduct evaluations of open-source GenAI models to determine suitability for integration into Snap’s products
- Participate in A/B testing and collect user feedback to improve product performance and user experience
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and implement scalable solutions
