About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team at Impellam. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative machine learning solutions that address complex business challenges. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, owning projects from inception through deployment, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders. Your expertise will contribute to designing, validating, and integrating machine learning models into production environments, ensuring they deliver measurable value. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience operating at a senior practitioner level as a Machine Learning Engineer, AI Engineer, or equivalent. A strong foundation in applied mathematics, statistics, and scientific methodology is essential. You should have excellent Python programming skills, with demonstrated experience in building, evaluating, and deploying machine learning models. Experience in evaluating models through quantitative evidence and structured experimentation is crucial. Additionally, you should have a solid understanding of software engineering best practices, producing readable, testable, and maintainable code. Experience integrating machine learning solutions into production systems and workflows is highly desirable. Candidates comfortable working in secure, regulated, or high-assurance environments will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of machine learning solutions, from problem definition through experimentation, evaluation, and iteration.
- Develop, validate, and deploy machine learning models into production environments, ensuring scalability and robustness.
- Apply statistical, mathematical, and scientific thinking to formulate hypotheses and assess uncertainty.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate model behavior, performance, and user impact.
- Work with real, imperfect data drawn from operational systems and workflows, managing data quality and consistency.
- Integrate machine learning components into broader software and data platforms, ensuring seamless operation.
- Balance rigor with pragmatism to deliver proportionate and effective solutions that meet business needs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Engage in technical reviews, design discussions, and provide constructive peer challenge to maintain high standards.
