About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer with expertise in Computer Vision to join our dynamic engineering team. This role involves developing sophisticated machine learning solutions tailored for complex, real-world environments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in taking models from research concepts through to deployment, working collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, and domain specialists. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects that have tangible impacts across various industries, including autonomous systems, surveillance, healthcare, and more. The role is based in Oxford, with a competitive salary package up to £160,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background and practical experience in machine learning and computer vision. Essential qualifications include a degree from a leading Russell Group university in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Physics. Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in machine learning, AI, or computer vision engineering roles. Proficiency in Python programming is required, along with hands-on experience using frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar. Demonstrated expertise in developing computer vision models—including object detection, image classification, segmentation, and tracking—is essential. Experience working with real-world datasets and deploying models into production environments is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams are also critical for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the end-to-end development of computer vision models, including designing, training, and deploying these models into production systems.
- Work across the full machine learning lifecycle—from data collection and preprocessing to model evaluation and optimization.
- Build scalable, robust, and efficient solutions that can operate reliably in real-world conditions.
- Evaluate model performance continuously, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to ensure optimal results.
- Contribute to technical decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning techniques.
