A permanent opportunity for an experienced food manufacturing Machine Minder, paying £15.00ph…did that get your attention? 2 Sisters Food Group in Scunthorpe currently have vacancies for Machine Minders in our Primary Department working on a rotating shift pattern.
About The Role
The purpose of the Machine Minder role is to operate and drive their specific area of responsibility ensuring it is best in class. Constantly working with production to maintain Delivery, Yields, Waste, and Quality, in their area.
- Carry out Asset Care maintenance to deliver and improve reliability of equipment, within the limits of the training provided, supporting the Engineering function as required.
- Effective communications with Managers, Section Leaders, Team Leaders and Engineers to ensure the area is operating at its most efficient.
Job Description
The shift pattern
Day Shift
- Monday: 03:20-14:20
- Tuesday-Friday: 05:50-14:20
- Saturday: 05:50-11:50
Afternoon Shift
- Monday-Friday: 14:20-22:50
This pattern rotates on a weekly basis, with premium rates paid for early starts on Mondays and for Saturday hours. Average weekly pay (over 2 weeks) would be: £664 (Gross)
Accountabilities
- Ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum to achieve the department KPI, this will involve planning workload with production and Engineering.
- Liaise and communicate with all levels of staff, ensuring good working relationships with other departments.
- To ensure the standard of work within the team delivers food safety, Quality product in a safe manner through our culture, behaviour, systems, policies & procedures.
- Flexibility to take on different roles and responsibilities within the production area to cover other Machine Minder roles as and when required.
- Be forward thinking with an enthusiastic attitude and the desire to improve your team, area and ultimately the business.
- To manage, as far as reasonably practicable, the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of yourself and others at all times

Qualifications
Although experience as a Machine Minder in a food production environment would be beneficial, it is not essential. A good working attitude is key along with the below competencies/experience:
- Good observational skills
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Excellent team working skills
- Ability to follow and understand tasks required to perform the role
