Machine Minders sought to join an award-winning, GBP multimillion turnover food manufacturing company based in Bilston. They are a privately owned company who supply numerous sectors including foodservice, retail, wholesale, and catering, both in the UK and abroad.
These are permanent, full-time positions with morning shifts and evening shifts available.
- Mornings: 5.15am/5.20am-2.45pm/2.50pm Monday to Friday
- Evenings: 2pm-10.30pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday
There are 3 x Machine Minder roles available on each shift from Level 1 to Level 3, with the hourly rate reflecting the level of the role.
The Role
As a Machine Minder, you will undertake machine interventions and first-line troubleshooting to ensure the machinery runs to its optimum. Your duties will include:
- Ensure that the production line is operating smoothly and correctly, and any issues are reported
- Perform start-up and close-down check procedures
- Complete routine maintenance of specific line equipment
- Analyse, interpret, and report live data for performance evaluation
- Deliver the department daily plan
- Maintain, monitor, and achieve operational targets
- Monitor and improve product quality
- Complete line quality checks (CLS)
- Perform production process checks in the department
- Continuously identify and implement workplace improvements
- Maintain and promote measures that support waste minimisation and sustainability in operations
- Support internal and external audits
- Support GMP in the department
- Ensure that photographic standards are adhered to and that customer specifications are followed
- Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of production
- Work as part of a team and effectively communicate with all colleagues, Supervisors, and Management staff
- Keep training records up to date

Your Experience
- Experience as a Machine Minder or similar machine maintenance role within a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
- Experience in performing start-up and close-down checks
- Routine maintenance experience
- Background in engineering
- Vocational engineering qualification e.g. NVQ, BTEC, HNC, etc. would be highly beneficial
- Happy to work either morning shifts, or afternoon shifts including Saturday days
- Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively with colleagues

- GBP 13.01 (Level 1) - GBP 13.99 (Level 3) per hour base rate
- GBP 13.72 (Level 1) - GBP 14.74 (Level 3) per hour evening rate (6pm onwards)
- GBP 15.10 (Level 1) - GBP 16.24 (Level 3) per hour Saturday rate
- GBP 16.26 (Level 1) - GBP 17.49 (Level 3) per hour overtime rate
- AM shift: Monday to Friday 5.15am/5.20am to 2.45pm/2.50pm
- PM Shift: Tuesday to Friday 2pm to 10.30pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm
