About The Role

A Machine Operative role is available in Cheltenham with Pertemps Gloucester (Chiltern) Industrial, paying £12.71 per hour on a full-time, temp to perm basis. Working alternating weekly shifts, the successful candidate operates machinery within an established manufacturing business, receiving full training, paid breaks, and overtime. Key duties include running production equipment, checking output quality, and following safety procedures. Week one runs 06:00 to 14:00, Monday to Thursday, with a shorter Friday, while week two covers 14:00 onwards. Every weekend is free. Long-term staff can access pay rises and clear progression routes. Applicants should be reliable, practical, and comfortable with shift rotation and manual tasks.

Shift Details

Alternating Weekly Shift

Week 1

  • Monday to Thursday: 06:00 - 14:00
  • Friday: 06:00 - 12:00

Week 2

  • Monday to Thursday: 14:00 - 22:00
  • Friday: 12:00 - 18:00

Enjoy every weekend off with an early finish every Friday!


Key Responsibilities

  • Picking and packing products according to production requirements
  • Feeding materials into machinery
  • Monitoring machine performance and output
  • Carrying out basic quality checks
  • Following production schedules and targets
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area
  • Adhering to all health and safety procedures
  • Supporting the wider production team as required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience is beneficial but not essential
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to follow instructions and work safely

  • Flexible approach to overtime when required
