Job Title: Machine Operator

Location: Bangor

Pay Rates:

  • Days: £13.12 per hour (£13.41 per hour with valid FLT licence)
  • Afternoons / evenings: £16.27 per hour (£16.63 per hour with valid FLT license)
  • Nights: £17.71 per hour (£18.11 per hour with valid FLT license)

Employment Type: Temp to Perm

Shift Pattern - 2 different converting shift patterns:

1) 8-hour rotating shifts (Days & Evenings), Monday to Friday, 39hrs/week.

  • Shift Patterns include:
    • Day shift:
      • 8:00am - 4:00pm (Mon - Thurs)
      • 8:00am - 3:00pm (Fri)
    • Evening shift:
      • 4:00pm - 12:00 midnight (Mon - Thurs)
      • 3:00pm - 10:00pm (Fri)
  • Weekly rotation between Days and Evening shifts.

2) 12-hour rotating shifts (Afternoons & Nights), 40hrs/week

  • Shift patterns include:
    • Afternoon shift:
      • 12:00 midday - 08:00pm (Mon)
      • 08:00am - 08:00pm (Tues - Thurs)
    • Night shift:
      • 08:00pm - 08:00am (Mon - Wed)
  • Weekly rotation between Afternoon and Night shifts.

We are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment producing high-quality adhesive-coated tapes for automotive, aerospace, and industrial applications. This role involves operating large-scale industrial machinery in line with defined operating procedures and production schedules while working as part of a small, supportive team.

Safety, quality, and reliability are key priorities in this position.

Key Responsibilities as a Machine Operator:

  • Operate large-scale production machinery in accordance with written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Set up machines, load raw materials, operate equipment, and unload finished products.
  • Use FLT trucks to move stock when required to keep production going.
  • Follow daily production schedules to meet output and quality targets.
  • Monitor product quality and take responsibility for ensuring standards are met.
  • Identify basic machine or process issues and escalate where necessary.
  • Carry out basic data entry and use computer systems where required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment always.

Candidate Experience required as a machine operator:

  • Previous experience operating production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
  • FLT (Forklift Truck) licence/experience is necessary (higher pay rate applies).
  • Basic computer and data-entry skills preferred.
  • Good manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
  • Quality-focused with strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and positive attitude toward shift work and team responsibilities.
