Windles Group || Certified B-Corp is a specialist UV litho print house based in the Oxfordshire countryside, known for high-quality greetings cards, luxury packaging, cartons, and rigid boxes. The company combines advanced printing with in-house finishes such as cold foil printing, hot foil, textured varnishes, neon inks, spot gloss varnish, embossing and debossing, die-cutting, and high-speed gluing. A fully digital support service and design studio operate under the same roof, ensuring creative and technical input throughout every project. As a Certified B Corporation, Windles Group is committed to responsible business practices and delivering exceptional printed products for a diverse range of clients.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Machine Operator role based in Thame. The Machine Operator will set up, operate, and monitor printing and finishing machinery to produce greetings cards and packaging to specification and schedule.

  • Loading materials
  • Performing routine equipment checks
  • Identifying and resolving minor mechanical issues
  • Maintaining a clean, safe work area
  • Conducting in-process quality checks
  • Following production plans
  • Completing basic documentation
  • Working closely with team members to meet production targets

The role involves adhering to safety procedures, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with supervisors and colleagues to ensure efficient, high-quality output.

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate and monitor production or printing machinery, including basic setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting (Machine Operation, Machinery).
  • Strong attention to detail with experience performing visual inspections, measuring outputs, and following quality standards (Quality Control).
  • Competence in using hand tools safely for minor adjustments, maintenance, or material handling (Hand Tools).
  • Clear, respectful communication skills for working within a production team and following written and verbal instructions (Communication).
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety practices and willingness to follow all safety procedures.
  • Previous experience in print, packaging, or manufacturing operations is beneficial but not essential.
  • Willingness to work assigned shifts, stand for extended periods, and handle materials as part of regular duties.
