Located in the Black Country, West Midlands, the company operates a workshop with more than 35 machines and capacity up to 85mm diameter, enabling tailored solutions for diverse fastener requirements. About the Role

WJL Engineering is looking for a reliable and hardworking Workshop Operative to join our busy engineering workshop. This is a varied hands-on role that would suit someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of workshop operations.

Main Duties

  • Chamfering and tapping nuts to specification.
  • Deburring a variety of machined components.
  • Carrying out in-process inspection.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
  • Assisting with general workshop duties as required.
  • Supporting the production team with a range of workshop tasks and odd jobs.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be willing to undertake a variety of tasks and support wherever needed in the workshop.
  • Have a positive attitude and a flexible approach to work.
  • Previous engineering experience would be beneficial, particularly operating a Capstan lathe to produce fasteners.
