Job title: Machine Operator – High Precision Components

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Machine Operator/Machinist to join a specialist engineering business in Teddington, manufacturing low-volume, high-precision components. You will be responsible for the end-to-end manufacturing process, from setting and operating milling and grinding machinery through to inspection, quality control and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate milling and grinding machinery.
- Manufacture low-volume, high-precision components to tight tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Select tooling and machining processes.
- Carry out dimensional inspection using precision measuring equipment.
- Identify and resolve machining and quality issues.
- Take ownership of components from setup through to final delivery.
- Support process improvement and maintain high quality standards.

Skills and Experience
The successful candidate must have:
- Hands-on experience setting and operating milling and/or grinding machinery.
- Experience manufacturing high-precision components.
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
- Experience with inspection and precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage work independently from setup through to completion.
- Experience in CNC machining, low-volume/bespoke manufacturing or a specialist engineering environment would be advantageous.
