Pro-Found Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operator/Shell Saw Operator on behalf of our client based in Rotherham, S60.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business offering long-term prospects and a permanent opportunity following a successful temporary period.

Benefits

  • Location: Rotherham, S60
  • Pay Rate: £16.31 per hour
  • Weekly pay
  • Rotating 2-shift pattern:
    • Days: 6:00am – 2:00pm
    • Afters: 2:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • Monday to Friday – 39 hours per week
  • Temporary to Permanent at approx. 12 weeks, subject to performance, attendance and business requirements
  • Start date: Monday 7th September 2026

The Role

Working within a busy machine shop environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery, with a particular focus on operating and programming a shell saw to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operating and programming shell saw machinery
  • Setting up machinery and adjusting cutting parameters to meet production requirements
  • Reading and interpreting production specifications and job sheets
  • Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently
  • Monitoring machine performance and identifying basic faults or issues
  • Conducting in-process quality inspections and dimensional checks
  • Ensuring finished products meet required specifications and quality standards
  • Working with timber and other heavy materials
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
  • Meeting daily production targets and deadlines
  • Supporting other manufacturing departments as required

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous manufacturing, production or machine operating experience is essential
  • Proven experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience operating and programming shell saws is highly desirable but not essential
  • Experience with machine set-up and changeovers preferred
  • FLT experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and production specifications
  • Strong understanding of quality standards and safe working practices
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to achieving production targets
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work across different areas of the operation when required
