Location: Featherstone, WF7
Shift Pattern: Full-time / permanent, working 12-hour 20-minute shifts rotating on days, nights, and weekends
Purpose of the Role
The Machine Setter plays a vital role in ensuring the self-sufficiency of the manufacturing team. This role is critical to:
- Ensuring smooth equipment operation
- Supporting changeovers within the manufacturing cell
- Working closely with the Operational Team Leader (OTL)

The Machine Setter is responsible for:
- First-line maintenance
- Production changes
- Machine setting
- Process control
Key Responsibilities
- HSHE awareness ensuring a zero accident mentality
- Adherence to quality standards
- Carry out first-line maintenance to the agreed plan
- Tooling, setting, and product changeovers to plan
- Manufacturing performance to plan on a daily basis, including resolution of issues
- Process control and continuous improvement
- Process documentation
- Facilitating the training/mentoring of colleagues
- Team cover on other duties such as Machine Operative / Packing
- Problem solving within the cell
- Material movement and control
Skills and Experience
- Comprehensive Equipment, Process, and Quality training provided
- Ability to assess risk and work safely
- Mechanical qualification at level 2 or above
- Ability to follow written company procedures
- Reliable timekeeping and attendance
- Teamwork and good communication skills
- Positive attitude with a desire to develop and progress
- Attention to detail
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Problem-solving ability
- Flexibility and adaptability
