Faerch - Thermoforming Setter

As a Thermoforming Setter, you’ll play a key role in operating and maintaining our thermoforming production lines to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Reporting to the Thermoforming Shift Leader, you’ll work hands-on with advanced machinery, including Illig and Kiefel thermoforming machines, contributing to high-quality output and operational efficiency.

  • Starting up, running, and shutting down thermoforming machines.
  • Performing full tool changes, insert changes, and paperwork changes within standard times.
  • Operating and maintaining inline systems, including extruders, padding machines, punch units, and glue systems.
  • Ensuring product quality meets customer specifications and promptly addressing any defects.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns or stoppages, escalating issues when required.
  • Recording accurate production and quality data on our ERP system (M3).
  • Cleaning and conducting routine maintenance on machinery.
  • Supporting team members and shift leaders to meet production and efficiency targets.
  • Supporting other departments and assisting with packing duties in the Operator role when required, including ad-hoc tasks to meet business needs.

The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, involving hands-on technical tasks in a manufacturing setting. The role requires attention to detail, adaptability, and teamwork in a noisy, warm environment. Your safety and well-being are a priority, supported by PPE and rigorous safety measures.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • A team player with good communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Technical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
  • Awareness of health and safety practices.

Desirable

  • Experience operating or setting production machinery.
  • Knowledge of thermoforming processes or plastic manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., M3).

Additional Information

Shift Pattern

Panama Schedule: 12-hour shifts covering days, nights, and weekends, averaging 42 hours per week.

Salary

Starting £35,000 (inclusive of shift allowance).
