About The Role

Pertemps Warrington seeks a Machine Setter/Engineering Setter for a precision engineering manufacturer in Woolston. Working 36 hours weekly on a three-shift rotation, the successful candidate sets and operates up to three specialist machines, producing components to exacting quality standards. Pay starts at £18.36 hourly, equivalent to £34,370 annually, rising beyond £20.00 per hour (£37,440+) once fully trained. This full-time, temporary position carries genuine permanent potential.

Applicants need proven setting experience within manufacturing, mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the flexibility to cover rotating shifts. Duties encompass machine adjustment, tooling changes, first-off inspection, and routine upkeep, ensuring consistent output and minimal downtime throughout each production run.

Pertemps is recruiting an experienced Machine Setter / Engineering Setter to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in Warrington.


The Role

You'll be responsible for setting and operating specialist manufacturing machinery, producing precision-engineered components to required quality standards.


Duties Include

  • Setting and operating up to three manufacturing/heading machines
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings
  • Carrying out quality inspection checks
  • Using micrometres, vernier callipers, gauges, and other measuring equipment
  • Making machine adjustments and resolving production issues
  • Completing production records and SAP transactions
  • Ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained

What We're Looking For

  • Machine setting or mechanical engineering experience
  • Experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Level 3 Engineering qualification or relevant experience
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving skills

Experience as a Machine Setter, Engineering Setter, Heading Setter, Machine Operator/Setter or Manufacturing Technician would be particularly relevant.


Shifts

You'll Work a Rotating 3-shift Pattern

  • 6am–2pm
  • 2pm–10pm
  • 10pm–6am
