Machine Tool Systems - Field Service Engineer

Digital Industries

As a Field Service Engineer for Machine Tool Systems, you'll be our technical expert on the ground, providing crucial support to customers across the UK and Ireland. Working with both legacy and cutting-edge machine tool technology, you'll solve customer challenges and help keep manufacturing moving.

Location

While this is a location-independent role, it requires regular travel and on-site presence at customer locations across the UK. As the majority of our contract customers are located within easy reach of the Midlands, North West and Yorkshire regions, we are particularly interested in candidates based in these areas. This is to ensure travel can be undertaken efficiently and sustainably whilst meeting the needs of our customers.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver expert field service support to end customers during machine breakdowns across the UK and Ireland.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers through effective communication at all levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share technical knowledge, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Expand your expertise in industrial control systems—from legacy technologies to innovative modern solutions.
  • Proactively maintain awareness of emerging automation, connectivity, and digitalisation technologies, applying modern engineering principles and protocols to enhance operational performance.
  • Participate in our 24/7 standby rota, providing critical support to key contract customers and ensuring their operations stay productive.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
