Poole Process Equipment Ltd is seeking a Machining Technician Apprentice to support the manufacture of heat exchangers. You'll receive practical training in manual and CNC machining, working with experienced engineers to produce high-quality components in a safe manufacturing environment.
As a Machining Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced machinists and engineers to manufacture components used in the production of heat exchangers. You will receive training in a range of machining processes and develop the skills required to produce high-quality components safely and efficiently.
Your duties will include:
- Setting up and operating manual horizontal and vertical boring machines.
- Operating and maintaining manual centre lathes.
- Operating CNC drilling machines and learning CNC machining principles.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Selecting and using appropriate cutting tools, measuring equipment, and fixtures.
- Carrying out dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintaining quality standards and recording inspection results.
- Following company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities within the machine shop.

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
Training will be provided at our premises within our workshops. One day a week will be attending college.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English (grade 4)
- Maths (grade 4)
