Glenfield Invicta provide end-to-end project solutions, from initial survey and design to commissioning and long-term asset management. They are part of the AVK Group, a global leader in high-quality valves and hydrants for water, wastewater, gas, and fire protection throughout the world.

As part of our rapid growth, we are recruiting for a Workshop Machinist to join our workshop operation in Maidstone. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist with CNC and manual machining expertise who takes pride in producing high-quality components safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will manufacture precision-machined components from technical drawings while contributing to a safe and organised workshop environment.

About The Role

As a Workshop Machinist, you will be responsible for:

  • Manufacturing components using both CNC and manual machining equipment
  • Setting up CNC machines, selecting tooling and running programmes safely and efficiently
  • Producing components accurately to technical drawings and specifications
  • Completing machining operations within required lead times
  • Carrying out quality inspections on finished products
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
  • Supporting stock-taking activities when required
  • Following company procedures and health & safety standards at all times

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous CNC machining experience, including machine setup, tooling, offsets and operation
  • Experience operating manual machining equipment
  • The ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • A strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A positive attitude and commitment to producing quality workmanship
