Job Title: macOS Applications Engineer
Location: London, (Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite)
Duration: 6 months contract initially
Summary:
Positioned at the intersection of design, entertainment and technology, our team is comprised of many different backgrounds, experiences and interests. We are a small, hands-on group building tools that streamline processes across multiple lines of business, where creative production meets software engineering. We care as much about craft as we do about shipping reliably.
Scope of the Assignment:
You will build and improve a suite of native macOS applications used in design production. Work is scoped at the start and wraps up with a shipped build, checked through the team's usual build, signing, release, and testing steps. You will also work on maintenance, defect resolution, refactoring, and rebuilds required in the life cycle of the projects. Your work spans native macOS tooling, Adobe design software, and Python file-processing scripts. You will prototype new approaches within this stack as they emerge, testing each one against a real production need rather than exploring it in the abstract. You will also build automation and integrations from production requirements gathered from content design stakeholders, turning what's needed into tools that hold up in daily use. Each piece of work is scoped and delivered on its own, with revisions folded into the work cycle.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong Swift experience building and shipping native macOS applications.
- Experience with the Xcode build and release lifecycle.
- Experience processing, exporting, or otherwise manipulating video or images programmatically (e.g. AVFoundation, Core Image).
- Experience with SwiftUI and modern Swift concurrency (async/await).
- An innovative, open-minded approach to problem-solving — genuine curiosity about new technology and how it can reshape existing workflows, and comfort bringing new tools into daily practice as they emerge.
- Expertise with Git for version control and collaborative development.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non-engineering creative stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including automating them.
- Familiarity with Python for broader automation and file processing.
- Experience with macOS auto-update frameworks.
- Familiarity with Client's Human Interface Guidelines for macOS.
- Experience building tools for a creative, media, or design production team.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
