About the Role
Glass Atlas are looking for a Magento Backend Developer to join their Commerce Technology Engineering. As a Magento Backend Developer, you will work across a range of Magento/Adobe Commerce projects, primarily focusing on BAU development, maintenance, bug fixing, and technical improvements.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be expected to take ownership of problems, investigate issues, and find solutions independently. You won't be expected to know the answer to everything, but you should be comfortable working things out, asking the right questions, and getting stuck into unfamiliar problems.
Key Responsibilities
The following should give you a flavor of how you will be spending your time. It is not set in stone and it may change from week-to-week, but it gives an idea of what is expected from the role:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
