A Mailroom Assistant is needed in London for a temporary, part-time role covering holiday leave during August and September. An established insurance company in The City is looking for a Postroom/Mailroom Operative to provide holiday cover throughout August. This is a great short-term opportunity for someone reliable, organised, and comfortable with hands-on operational work.

Confirmed Working Dates

  • Monday 17 August – Thursday 20 August (4 days)
  • Monday 24 August – Thursday 27 August (4 days)
  • Tuesday 1 September & Thursday 3 September (2 Days)
  • Tuesday 8 September & Thursday 10 September (2 Days)
  • Tuesday 15 September & Thursday 17 September (2 Days)
  • Tuesday 22 September & Thursday 24 September (2 Days)

You must be able to commit to all dates and pass standard security checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Post & parcel collection — Collecting items from the loading bay and internal departments
  • Digital parcel logging — Recording deliveries on the company’s digital tracking system
  • Internal deliveries — Distributing letters and parcels to staff and departments
  • Meeting room setup — Preparing rooms for meetings and events
  • Routine safety checks — Carrying out basic security and fire-safety inspections
  • Stock monitoring — Keeping an eye on stationery and general supplies

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience of working in a busy mailroom
  • Someone punctual, dependable, and comfortable moving around a large office building
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Willingness to complete security vetting
