About the Role
We are a busy Food to Go Marks and Spencer Cafe in the heart of The Christie Hospital, looking for an experienced Coffee Barista/Sales Assistant to join our team!
Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who is confident in all things coffee and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment — making multiple drinks, serving customers, and keeping service running smoothly. Previous barista experience and confidence using a till/cash handling are essential. Our Cafe can get extremely busy, so you'll need to work well under pressure, bring plenty of energy, and take pride in delivering great coffee and excellent customer service.
Requirements
Please note: previous barista/coffee experience is essential for this role. If you don't have this experience, please look out for other postings!
Sales Assistant Duties
As a Sales Assistant, you’ll provide exceptional customer service and work independently or as part of a team to deliver our fantastic store standards. We want you, our customers, and our colleagues to be proud to share their journey with us.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
