Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ever-growing team of professionals within our Gas utilities division. We are looking for a Main & Service Layers working in the Preston and Blackburn areas. A multiskilled Operative (Main & Service Layer) who is CP registered is an advantage.

Duties To Include

  • CAT and Genny survey in accordance with the national specification and standards
  • Excavating following company policies and procedures
  • Main laying activities
  • Service laying activities
  • Preforming monthly B.A checks and recording on documentation
  • Setting up site to Chapter 8 of the NRSWA
  • Electrofusion of a wide variety of joints in accordance with the national standards
  • Reporting of any defective tools
  • Good communicator on site
  • Understand the risk assessment and the policies under the Cadent contract and the JN civils terms
  • Assisting with the reinstatement team in back filling trenches to meet the current industry standards
  • WASK Drilling in readiness for the mains replacement
  • Main laying in the butt fusion process
  • Any issues regarding lone working and procedural information is located in the yard and electronically on the work tablet
