Implementation Manager โ Mainframe Product Migration Programme
๐ (Remote) occasional travel to Sheffield | Contract | Start: ASAP
Lead the end-to-end implementation of a critical mainframe product migration into production โ owning the integrated cutover plan, readiness governance, and go/no-go decisions across technology, operations, business, and third parties.
What you'll do:
- Create and maintain the integrated implementation/cutover strategy and plan
- Lead detailed cutover runbooks, rehearsals, communications, and rollback contingency
- Coordinate release/change management (CAB submissions, approvals, sign-offs)
- Drive environment and operational readiness (capacity, access, batch windows, service transition)
- Manage data migration sequencing, validation, and reconciliation
- Run dress rehearsals/mock cutovers and harden runbooks from lessons learned
- Lead governance: readiness reviews, RAID management, decision logs, executive reporting
- Oversee hypercare and BAU handover post-go-live
- Manage third-party/vendor coordination across infrastructure, platform, and app support

What you'll bring:
- Proven cutover/deployment management on mainframe or large-scale legacy migrations
- Strong understanding of z/OS production operations: batch cycles (JCL), scheduling (Control-M/CA-7), DB2/IMS, CICS regions, resilience/DR
- Experience leading dress rehearsals, cross-team cutovers, and go/no-go forums
- ITIL-aligned change/release/incident management experience in regulated environments
- Excellent planning and stakeholder management; calm, decisive leadership under pressure
- Tools: MS Project/Smartsheet/Jira/Confluence, ServiceNow (or equivalent), Excel
