Location: Newcastle

About the role:

In this Electrical Tradesperson position, you’ll be key in maintaining and repairing locomotives, rollingstock, wagons, mobile and fixed plant and infrastructure to ensure they meet safety and reliability standards. Your contribution will support the efficient operation of our Newcastle depot by:

  • Performing routine and corrective maintenance and fault repairs using best practices.
  • Adhering to Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and technical specifications.
  • Keeping accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs.
  • Reporting completed work against the scheduled program.
  • Contributing to the development and enhancement of work procedures for continuous quality improvement.

About you:

  • Holds a mandatory electrical trade qualification
  • Hold a current Electrical Licence
  • Proficient in computer use.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued.
  • Demonstrates robust fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
  • Knowledgeable in relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
  • Experience with locomotives and wagons is a plus, but training will be provided.
