Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business is designer and manufacturer of alarm, signal, control and notification equipment since 1975.

Eaton acquired Cooper Industries plc in late 2012. Eaton's Crouse-Hinds Business integrates a comprehensive line of electrical and instrumentation products with expert support, industry insights and local availability, engineering safety and productivity in the most demanding industrial and commercial environments worldwide.

The products specifically designed for harsh environmental conditions and where there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of flammable atmospheres both onshore and offshore.

Based at Sutton in Ashfield, Nottingham, Cooper MEDC is designer and manufacturer of alarm, signal, control and notification equipment used in harsh environmental conditions. The plant employs around 190 people.

What you’ll do:

Lead maintenance team supporting operations of plant equipment, whilst focussed on MESH elements related to Maintenance, including but not limited to:

Maintenance

  • Implements Repair and maintain plant manufacturing equipment for all breakdowns
  • Undertake routine Maintenance duties as required
  • Liaise with sub-contract toolmakers and service providers to ensure timely support for breakdown and tooling issues
  • Manage maintenance records for any maintenance undertaken
  • Implement and maintain planned maintenance programme ensuring this is balanced with capacity planning and fulfils all EHS requirements.
  • Management of contractors to Eaton's requirements for the repair to plant equipment to reduce reactive costs whilst increasing utilisation of machinery to meet 100% Flex/Productivity target.

Facilities

  • Provide effective Facility Management services across site and facilities and equipment to include construction, infrastructure repair and maintain.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of buildings to ensure that they meet health and safety standards and also the legal requirements.
  • Liaise with Sub-contractors related to facility maintenance such as air conditioning, water, electricity, fabric of the building and roofing.
  • Accountable for services such as cleaning, security, heating and air conditioning, to make sure the surrounding environment is in a suitable condition to work.
  • Maintain energy use, manage reductions where possible
  • Maintain water use, manage reductions where possible

Plant & Equipment

  • Establish maintenance programs for all plant & equipment
  • Arrange external services and repairs where required
  • Maintain and develop the critical spares list and spares for all Plant & Equipment
  • Manage Critical machine review/
  • Manage Maintenance/capacity planning

MESH

  • Support Health and safety manager in control and operation of MESH functions.
  • Work closely with EHS & CI Departments, Championing/Leading EHS Elements to include but not limited to Contractor Control, Security, Energy Usage, Emergency Protection Systems, Machine Guarding and working at height.
  • Support risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects. Carry out IH, environmental measurement and manage results.
  • Support and promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
  • Support EHS engagement through EHS teams and committees needed to accomplish the established targets and objectives for the year.
  • Work with EHS leader and MESH element champions to complete an annual evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations.
  • Support efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class.

Other

  • Identify and implement improvements in line with the Eaton Lean System (ELS)
  • Maintain Standard work instructions applicable to Eaton lean system and TPM
  • Support project managers in new product introduction i.e. new machine MOC, training and implementation.
  • Capex- Create and manage Capex projects from Ranking, justification, MESH and introduction both facility and production/process
  • Responsible for ensuring timely closure and/or escalation of Maintenance Tickets.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent is preferable or time served experience
  • Skills:
    • Previous experience in a similar role beneficial
    • PC Literate (MS Teams & Office/Excel, Sharepoint)
    • ERP Systems: SAP
    • Good data capture and analysis skills
    • People Management
