King’s School, Bruton
King’s School, Bruton is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Health & Safety Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of the School’s estate.
The Role
Reporting to the Bursar, you will oversee maintenance, compliance, and site operations across the School. You will lead the maintenance and caretaking teams, manage contractors, and ensure the estate is maintained to a high standard while meeting all health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage maintenance and caretaking teams.
- Deliver effective planned and reactive maintenance.
- Act as Health & Safety and Fire Officer, ensuring full compliance.
- Manage contractors, statutory checks, and site security systems.
- Oversee maintenance budgets and procurement.
- Support capital projects and estate development.
- Manage the School’s vehicle fleet and support events and lettings.

About You
- Proven experience in estates or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
- Experience managing teams and contractors.
- Well-organised, practical, and proactive.
- Relevant H&S qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH/IOSH) are desirable.
