Assan Panel UK Ltd is part of the Kibar Group and operates a newly established manufacturing facility in the Ipswich-Stowmarket area.

About the Role

As we continue to develop our UK operations and expand our manufacturing activities, we are looking for a proactive, hands-on and experienced Maintenance and Production Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the day-to-day management, optimization and continuous improvement of our production operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and wants to take an active role in production planning and performance, process optimization, production efficiency, machinery and equipment reliability, fault finding, preventive maintenance and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the production team to identify operational challenges, improve manufacturing processes, minimize downtime and support the achievement of production targets.

The successful candidate will work closely with the UK Site Management, Production and Maintenance teams, while also coordinating with the Group Engineering and relevant technical functions at Head Office in Turkey. The role will involve monitoring production performance, analyzing technical and operational issues, implementing practical engineering solutions and supporting the development of efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.

The role will have a strong on-site, hands-on and production-focused approach, requiring regular interaction with production employees, maintenance contractors, equipment suppliers and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of production-related engineering activities, equipment performance and maintenance, while ensuring that operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with relevant UK requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate both Maintenance and Production teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations
  • Monitor daily production activities, production targets, capacity, efficiency, OEE, downtime, and production losses
  • Plan and follow up preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for production machinery
  • Coordinate Maintenance and Production teams to minimize downtime and maximize machine availability and production efficiency
  • Analyze root causes of machine breakdowns and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Monitor production processes, identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities, and implement actions to improve productivity, quality, and capacity
  • Manage maintenance and production processes and records through SAP
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety (HSE) requirements across all maintenance and production activities, promote a strong safety culture, and take necessary actions to prevent risks
  • Ensure compliance with environmental requirements and company environmental policies, and contribute to the effective and environmentally responsible management of waste, energy, and other resources
  • Lead continuous improvement, TPM, automation, energy efficiency, and cost reduction activities
  • Support new machinery and production line investments, including technical specifications, installation, and commissioning
  • Coordinate with Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers, machine manufacturers, and external service companies
  • Monitor maintenance and production performance and budgets, and develop cost-effective solutions

About You

This position is open to candidates who already have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. Assan Panel UK Ltd does not offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants who require current or future visa sponsorship to work in the UK will not be eligible for this position.

You will ideally have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering disciplines
  • Experience in maintenance and/or production in a manufacturing environment
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLC systems, particularly TIA Portal and SIMATIC S7
  • Experience in machinery and production line installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization
  • Knowledge of TPM, preventive/predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement
  • Good understanding of production processes, production planning, OEE, efficiency, and productivity
  • Knowledge of SAP maintenance and production processes
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems is an asset
  • Preferably knowledgeable in e-plan, able to read and create electrical diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring and installation
  • Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills
