Are you a skilled and proactive maintenance professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real difference within a thriving educational environment?

Copleston High School are seeking an effective and motivated Maintenance and Projects Coordinator to join our school team. This is a key role responsible for helping to ensure that our buildings, facilities and grounds are maintained to the highest standards, providing a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.


About the role

Working closely with the Director of Operations, you will coordinate and undertake a wide range of maintenance, refurbishment and improvement projects across our sites. You will oversee contractors, manage maintenance programmes, carry out repairs and contribute to the ongoing development of our facilities.

This varied and hands-on role will also involve:

  • coordinating planned and reactive maintenance works
  • delivering refurbishment and improvement projects
  • monitoring contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
  • supporting site security arrangements and participating in an emergency call-out rota
  • assisting with adverse weather preparations and site safety
  • acting as a Fire Marshal and liaising with the Fire and Rescue Service when required
  • maintaining accurate maintenance and project records.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • has experience in building maintenance, repairs and refurbishment
  • possesses excellent practical skills across a range of maintenance disciplines
  • can manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • communicates confidently with staff, contractors and external agencies
  • works independently, uses initiative and takes pride in delivering high standards
  • has a strong commitment to health and safety and safeguarding.

A relevant trade qualification, such as carpentry, construction or property maintenance, would be advantageous. Experience within a school or public sector environment is desirable but not essential.
