Key Responsibilities For The Role Will Include
- To maintain the racecourse and hotel plant and fabric to the highest possible standards within budget limits and maintains the hotel and racecourse facilities in a fully operational mode.
- To ensure all bedrooms and meeting rooms are available to let daily. To liaise closely with Housekeeping and Front Office Manager to ensure up-to-date communication and understanding.
- To implement and operate planned Preventative maintenance Scheme for the hotel.
- To care for all Plant and Machinery.
- To carry out fire tests weekly and record them.
- To check all emergency lighting in compliance with fire certificate and to keep records up to date.
- To attend to any plumbing and drainage issues in a timely fashion.
- To maintain all buildings by carrying out decorating, plumbing, carpentry, and buildings works where practically possible to a high standard of workmanship and finish where practical.
- To assist in the development of maintenance schedules for all Hotel, Estate buildings, and machinery assets (associated with building installations) to ensure that all facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards of presentation.
- To keep historical records for all planned and unscheduled maintenance that is carried out on items as outlined above.
- To ensure that all works on buildings, site work, track work, etc are carried out in compliance with all Health and Safety requirements at all times.
- To ensure that all building regulations are complied with in the scope of all projects and on a day-to-day operational basis, covering Safety at Sports Grounds regulations (where applicable), Fire alarm/other safety and intruder systems, lifting equipment, passenger/goods lifts, workshop equipment, electrical equipment.
- To work with all racecourse site contractors involved and responsible for the delivery of maintenance services on race days where applicable.
- To proactively support & assist the racecourse maintenance team in all tasks.
- To carry out any other tasks/duties to meet the needs of the business.
- To ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
- To react to unplanned issues and rectify as soon as practically possible.

Key Performance Indicators
- Maintaining costs within budgeted parameters
- Customer feedback on effective Maintenance delivery
- Effective undertaking of key duties
Essential Skills And Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role of general building maintenance including electrical work, joining, tiling, painting & decorating.
- Racecourse, Sport, Leisure or hotel background would be an advantage.
- High level of interpersonal skills.
- A proven record of successfully working within a maintenance department.
- Trade’s qualifications / Experience preferred.
