Maintenance Assistant

Here at UPP Exeter we have an opportunity for a Maintenance Assistant to work as part of our team in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service.

This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week from 8am to 11pm Monday to Sunday on a 7-week rolling rota. The salary is £27,793 per annum.

Role Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Assistant, your responsibilities include:

  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and provide front line response
  • Ensure that the environment is maintained in accordance with the SLA, including keeping the site clean and clear throughout the tear
  • Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner
  • Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residence ensuring all information is passed to the relevant Manager(s)

We are looking for you to have worked in a similar role and environment and have great communication and organization skills, along with the passion to do a great job.

You will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as a good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.

You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
