Looking for a hands-on, people-focused role with real stability and no two days the same?
We're recruiting on behalf of a growing residential property business managing a large portfolio of HMO and shared living accommodation, primarily across South West London. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Property Maintenance Assistant to join their close-knit team.
This role is as much about people as it is about practical work. You'll be visiting residents in their homes, so being genuinely helpful, personable, and easy to deal with matters just as much as being handy with tools.
If you're conscientious, take pride in doing a job properly, and enjoy being out and about rather than desk-bound, this could be a great fit, whether you're already working in maintenance, or you're coming from a customer-facing role like retail, hospitality, or facilities and want something more hands-on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Full training and support will be given to the right person. Previous maintenance experience is a bonus, not essential, attitude and reliability matter more.
The role
You'll typically visit several properties throughout the day, with jobs organised and scheduled in advance, including:
- General property maintenance and basic repairs.
- Simple plumbing, carpentry and decorating tasks.
- Patch repairs, silicone work and room refreshes between tenancies.
- Replacing fixtures and fittings, locks, door handles, shower heads, toilet seats, blinds, furniture and light fittings.
- Reporting issues clearly with photos and videos via the company's maintenance system.
- Being the friendly, professional face of the business when visiting residents, landlords and contractors.
- Flagging anything that needs a specialist, and communicating clearly with the Property Management team.
About you
- Personable, reliable and genuinely enjoy helping people.
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own day across multiple locations.
- Practical and happy to get stuck into hands-on tasks.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner, especially important as you'll be in people's homes.
- Well organised, punctual, and able to manage your time across a scheduled workload.
- A full UK driving licence.
