Moat House Care Home is a modern residential, dementia, respite, and day care home in Burbage, near Hinckley, Leicestershire. With award-winning sensory gardens, five beautifully designed care suites, and exceptional facilities, we provide a welcoming home where residents are encouraged to live life to the fullest.
Maintenance Assistant Contract
- £13.71 per hour
- Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
- Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract)
Role Overview
As Maintenance Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well-maintained, and comfortable at all times. This is a hands-on and varied role where your practical skills and attention to detail will have a direct impact on the environment and daily experience.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations, and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
Working independently and alongside the wider team, you will follow health and safety procedures, support compliance checks, and help maintain a well-organized, safe, and welcoming environment.
The working days are Monday to Friday.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, or a similar role
- Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical, and building maintenance
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
- A proactive and practical approach
- Reliable, organized, and able to problem solve
