Location: North West London, NW9 6TD
Salary: £33,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 36 hours per week

Maintenance Assistant - The Role
Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you will deliver high-quality maintenance and facilities management services across our North West London sites. You will ensure compliance, conduct inspections and testing, and carry out repairs and maintenance works at our 50 supported living properties. You will be the front-line service contact for facilities and property management, managing sub-contractors and working on properties including Langdon College and Maccabi House, as well as our wider housing portfolio.

Maintenance Assistant - Key Responsibilities
- Conduct health and safety checks including fire alarm testing, legionella flushing, emergency light testing and site safety inspections
- Carry out preventative and planned maintenance programmes with routine inspections of premises, fixtures, fittings, utility meters and grounds
- Undertake repairs, maintenance and improvements including furniture assembly, fitting curtain poles and general household repairs
- Act as the contact for contractors, ensuring they follow health and safety procedures, risk assessments and permits to work
- Manage keys, access cards and codes to maintain building security
- Ensure basic electrical safety procedures and PAT testing are organised and carried out as required
Maintenance Assistant - You
- Have knowledge of basic maintenance strategies and buildings
- Can undertake basic plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical work and painting
- Possess good all-round knowledge of the building maintenance industry
- Understand legal responsibilities around asbestos, legionella, fire safety, manual handling, working at height and COSHH
- Hold Level 2 in Building Maintenance or Multi-trade Repair and Refurbishment Operations or similar qualification
