Role of the Estates Maintenance Assistant (Nights)

The role of the Estates Maintenance Assistant (Nights) is to be part of a team providing comprehensive Healthcare building maintenance service to all wards and departments within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

Role Details

This role is working Night shifts and acting as a first responder for out of hour’s maintenance tasks and also carrying out pre-planned maintenance activities on both systems, engineering plant and maintenance areas.

Key Responsibilities

• To carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks to a high standard that is commensurate with the skills and experience for the role.
• The post holder will be reporting, on a day to day basis, to the Estates Supervisor and Estates maintenance managers. However, will carry out routine duties referring to SOP’s as and when required.
• Undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a fully qualified craftsman, related to his training and/or experience.
• To assist other trades as required by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• To use all relevant tools and equipment. Understanding how to manipulate fine tools and equipment.
• To maintain the workshops, stores, switch-rooms, boiler-house and plant-rooms and the surrounding areas clean and tidy as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Compliance with all statutory regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• To be able to work overtime at short notice if available to do so, depending on the needs of the Trust.
• To ensure that all policies and procedures laid down by the Trust are strictly complied with.
