Job Description
Do you take pride in preserving the charm and elegance of historic buildings? We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our team, helping keep our stunning wedding venues in top condition and ready for every event. As a Maintenance Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the upkeep of our venues, assisting with event setup and ensuring a seamless experience for our guests and wedding couples. If you have a can-do attitude, hands-on skills, and a passion for beautiful spaces, this role could be perfect for you!
St Audries Park is an award-winning wedding venue, set in 100 acres of scenic deer park, a short drive from the pretty village of Williton, located close to Bristol, Taunton, and the South West. A winding driveway through serene parkland leads you to the dramatic Gothic entrance of the private manor house, where panoramic views stretch across the rolling Quantock Hills and as far as the Bristol Channel.

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, you will assist with all planned and responsive maintenance-related tasks. The maintenance team is key to the upkeep and care of our beautiful listed building, creating the perfect environment for each of our weddings. You will be responsible for ensuring the building and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
About You
The ideal individual will have a wide range of transferrable skills with a proactive attitude and initiative. Your practical skills will enable you to undertake a variety of duties, including carrying out repairs, general decoration, grounds maintenance, and fire safety checks. Good knowledge of plumbing and/or electrics is also desirable. You will need to apply Health and Safety checks and keep up-to-date manual records. You will build very good working relationships with colleagues and external contractors and be an approachable person with very high standards.
