Role Overview

Support the Maintenance Manager in maintaining the hotel's high standards, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-presented at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and minor improvement works across the hotel to help deliver an excellent guest experience.
  • Assist with the preventative maintenance programme, helping to identify and resolve issues before they become larger problems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues, working efficiently to minimise disruption to hotel operations.
  • Conduct regular checks and inspections of hotel equipment, plant areas, bedrooms, and public spaces, reporting any concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Support contractors and external service providers when on site, ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with hotel procedures.
  • Help maintain accurate maintenance records, completing job logs and reporting completed works as required.
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
  • Assist with room refurbishments, decorating projects, furniture repairs, and general upkeep of the property.
  • Work closely with all departments to support daily operations and contribute to a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members.

What We Need From You

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, handyman, facilities, or engineering role is desirable, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, decorating, and repair work.
  • A hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards throughout the hotel.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond to changing operational needs.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and develop within the maintenance function.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and a commitment to working safely at all times.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency call-outs when required.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting colleagues and creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for our guests.
