Job Title: Maintenance Controller
Location: Coventry
Salary: GBP 36,500 Basic + Bonus Scheme + Company Benefits
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Controller to join a well-established organisation within the commercial vehicle and fleet management sector.
This is a key role within the maintenance control function, responsible for ensuring vehicle maintenance is managed efficiently, cost-effectively and to the highest possible service standards. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, repairers, and internal teams to minimise vehicle downtime and ensure vehicles are returned to service as quickly as possible.

Role Responsibilities
- Managing maintenance solutions within agreed budgets and customer service KPIs.
- Monitoring and proactively managing vehicle activity to minimise downtime.
- Reviewing vehicle history, warranties, and contracts before authorising repairs.
- Challenging repair costs to ensure work is completed to the required cost and quality standards.
- Working closely with suppliers and repairers to resolve issues and maintain strong working relationships.
- Checking supplier costs against agreed repairer and national parts agreements.
- Sourcing new and used parts where required to help reduce vehicle downtime.
The Ideal Candidate Will Hold The Following Experience

- A technical background would be highly advantageous, with previous experience as a time-served HGV/LGV Technician and/or Workshop Controller.
- Knowledge of the HGV/LGV sector would be preferred.
- Previous experience working as Service Controller, Maintenance Controller, or Breakdown Controller would be considered.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, with the ability to produce reports using Excel or similar systems.
