Contract: Full Time - Perm
Hour: 37.5 hours per week
Pay: £13.70 per hour weekdays & £14.20 per hour weekends
Shift Times: 9am to 5.30pm – Weekdays and alternative Weekends
Location: Newland Avenue, Bishops Stortford, CM23 2UW

We are seeking a Maintenance Coordinator to join our Hotel Styled Boutique feel Care Home in Bishop's Stortford, a contemporary luxury 78-bed residential home. Elm View Care Home is positioned as a modern, purpose-built care home with a strong focus on high-end facilities, hotel-style living, and personalised care.
As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will provide compassionate person-centred care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in a caretaker, maintenance, facilities, or building services role.
- Practical skills to carry out basic repairs, maintenance tasks, and general upkeep.
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify and resolve issues before they become problems.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- A commitment to maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional approach when interacting with residents, visitors, contractors, and colleagues.
- Basic IT skills for reporting maintenance issues and completing records.
- A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team as needed.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Painting and decorating
- Conducting minor repairs
- Replacing light bulbs and other features
- Hanging pictures and fittings
- Repairing or replacing door furniture
- Installing shelves and TV brackets
- Replacing stained or damaged ceiling tiles
- Carrying out routine inspections of the Home and reporting maintenance needs to the Housekeeping Manager
- Cleaning outdoor areas such as footpaths, waste, and parking zones, including snow and ice clearance
- Assisting with moving furniture, including tables and hospital beds
- Undertaking additional duties, as required, to support the smooth operation of the Home, as directed by the Home Manager or Housekeeping Manager
