About The Role
We are seeking a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join our client's dedicated maintenance team at their site near Worc. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a large, well-established manufacturing operation that operates on a continental shift pattern. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of manufacturing equipment and systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency. You will play a vital role in minimizing downtime, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, with relevant qualifications such as a City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential, particularly in maintenance or equipment repair roles. Familiarity with PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating equipment is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A flexible approach to shift work and a proactive attitude towards safety and continuous improvement are also important.
Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous operation.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults efficiently to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Supporting the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and reporting on equipment performance and issues.
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and safety standards.
- Collaborating with other team members and departments to coordinate maintenance activities and optimize production schedules.
