Based on Manton Road, Newly Weds Foods has been operational in Corby since 2002. The site is proud to be the only industrial ingredients manufacturer in Europe with a unique process that creates authentic Japanese “Panko” style breadcrumb.

The Role

Newly Weds® Foods Ltd is looking to recruit a full-time and permanent Maintenance Engineer to join our experienced and dedicated Engineering Team at our site in Corby on our permanent night shift, working Sunday to Thursday, 22.00-06.00.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to join the Maintenance department within a well-established factory. The successful candidate will work on a permanent night shift, from Sunday to Thursday from 22.00-06.00, and will be suitably trained and experienced. They will be highly motivated, flexible, reliable, experienced, and ready for a challenging and rewarding new role. As well as being focused on continuous improvement and implementing specific products, they will also be responsible for maintaining the upkeep of the buildings and grounds areas of the Corby plant facility. There will be opportunities to work overtime at weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of plant and equipment
  • Identifying, diagnosing, and fixing faults and breakdowns
  • Carrying out planned Preventative Maintenance
  • Facilitating and executing continuous improvement activities
  • Liaising with Engineering Manager to plan corrective actions
  • Prioritising and managing workload to ensure minimum impact on production efficiency
  • Completion of paperwork
  • Supporting all manufacturing facilities as required

Person Specification

  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent
  • Experience/further education in engineering
  • Excellent communication skills, and able to balance conflicting demands; must be fluent in English at a technical level
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Computer literate
  • Basic Health and Safety and Basic Food Hygiene Qualifications
  • Experience and knowledge of delivering CI activities
  • Knowledge of the FMCG food industry (desirable)
  • Knowledge of up-to-date maintenance techniques and policies (desirable)
  • Basic project management skills (desirable)
