Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Engineer role based between both our sites at Newton Abbot and Exeter (transport between sites provided, applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence).
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facilities to minimise downtime and support safe, efficient operations. Day-to-day tasks include:
- Conducting routine inspections
- Performing preventive maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Implementing corrective actions

Qualifications
- Strong background in Maintenance Engineering with hands-on experience in Plant Machinery Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and perform Preventive Maintenance activities to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Practical skills in Electrical Maintenance, including fault finding and repair of industrial electrical systems and controls.
- Relevant technical qualification in engineering (e.g., NVQ, HNC/HND, or degree in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance engineering).
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally within chemicals, adhesives, or related sectors.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and maintenance documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams.
- Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with production, engineering, and external service providers.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts if required to support operational needs.
