About Us
AVK Corby is part of the AVK Group, who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Wastewater, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world. AVK Corby is the renowned innovative manufacturer of BS 750 Fire hydrants and resilient seated gate valves for the UK, since 1979. Finished products are stocked at our National Distribution Centre giving the advantage of next day delivery and emergency delivery if required.
AVK UK is seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations.
About The Role
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities across plant and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely and effective manner.
- Assist with the design and development of electrical interfaces for test equipment where required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Support maintenance planning and scheduling activities.
- Source and order maintenance parts and consumables in line with company procedures.
- Manage maintenance stores, tools and equipment.
- Work from engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Working Hours
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.
- 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday
- 08:00 – 14:00 Friday
