Maintenance Engineer – £48,000–£53,000 DOE, annual bonus
Hucknall | 3 on 3 off | Days & Nights | 12-hour shifts
The Opportunity
ATA Recruitment is currently working with a market-leading aerospace manufacturer experiencing significant growth and investment across its UK operations.
The business has grown by 23% and recently invested in a second site, with a strong order book supporting continued expansion. With annual turnover currently around £78 million, this is an excellent opportunity to join an established and financially secure engineering business at an exciting stage of its growth.
The site itself is modern, clean, and exceptionally well maintained, with significant investment in equipment and facilities. Employee engagement is also extremely strong, with more than 90% of employees proud to work for the business and aligned with its goals.
We are now looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the engineering team on a 3 on 3 off, 12-hour days and nights shift pattern.

The Role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a range of PLC-controlled manufacturing machinery.
You will work as part of a close-knit engineering team, supporting production, improving equipment reliability, and contributing to ongoing site investment projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using the Idhammar CMMS system
- Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns and equipment faults
- Complete electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Diagnose faults on PLC-controlled machinery
- Support equipment upgrades and machine installations
- Work alongside OEMs on engineering and improvement projects
- Complete root cause analysis following breakdowns
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Support the engineering team with projects designed to improve equipment reliability and efficiency
About You
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working in a proactive manufacturing environment.
You should have:
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience, with either an electrical or mechanical bias
- Previous experience maintaining manufacturing or process machinery
- An apprenticeship or equivalent engineering training
- A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification or above
- Experience with both planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding ability
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
- The ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit engineering team

PLC experience would be advantageous, but full training can be provided on site-specific systems and equipment.
