Salary: £60,040

We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a busy, high-output manufacturing operation in Northamptonshire, working a Panama night shift pattern.
This is more than just a maintenance role. It’s an opportunity to join a strong engineering team where you can develop your technical skills, take on greater responsibility and, for the right person, progress towards a Team Leader position.
You’ll play a key role in keeping production running efficiently, maintaining and repairing a range of electrical and mechanical equipment, responding to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
If you’re an experienced engineer who enjoys being hands-on but is also looking for the next step in your career, this could be an excellent opportunity.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out electrical and mechanical maintenance across a range of production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults, including working with PLC-controlled systems.
- Responding promptly to breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to improve equipment reliability.
- Identifying recurring faults and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working closely with production and engineering colleagues to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
- Supporting the wider engineering team and taking on additional responsibility as you develop.
- Working towards future Team Leader responsibilities for the right individual.

What are we looking for?
We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background and good mechanical capability. Ideally, you’ll have experience within a manufacturing, production or other high-volume engineering environment.
You may have one or more of the following:
- BTEC/ONC or equivalent qualification in an Electrical or Multi-Skilled Engineering discipline.
- City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 Electro-Technical qualification alongside NVQ Level 3 Electrical Maintenance.
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or be time-served.
- HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Production Maintenance Engineering.
- Experience fault-finding on PLC-controlled machinery.
- A strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical maintenance.
- The ambition to develop your skills and progress into a Team Leader position.
