Field Service Engineer

Location: London & Surrounding Areas

Role Summary

We are recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a specialist engineering and technical services company operating across London. This permanent, full-time position offers a salary of £51,000, a company vehicle, technical training, and clear career development opportunities. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing specialist equipment at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on specialist equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and/or electrical faults.
  • Respond to breakdowns and service call-outs.
  • Install, commission, and test new equipment.
  • Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers.
  • Ensure work is completed in line with company and industry standards.
  • Maintain excellent customer service while working on-site.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar.
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage a field-based workload effectively.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel throughout London and surrounding areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with specialist equipment.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualifications.
  • Installation and commissioning experience.
  • Previous customer-facing engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and engineering best practices.
