The Engineer
You will be self-employed with insurances, business bank, own tools, and an appropriate vehicle. You are self-motivated and accountable, punctual, and customer-focused. It's rare for 2 days to be the same, so you need to be comfortable with your ability. There is no further training and no guidance from the customer.
Role Description
The individuals performing in this role will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and facility systems to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing corrective repairs, and updating maintenance records. The Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with the customer to prioritize work orders, support continuous improvement initiatives, and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve equipment performance. The role also involves adhering to safety procedures, following company standards, and participating in occasional after-hours or weekend work as required.

Qualifications
- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for industrial or facility systems.
- Demonstrated experience in Maintenance Engineering, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance practices, including planning, scheduling, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Electrical Maintenance, with the ability to safely diagnose and repair electrical faults.
- Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics, and use diagnostic tools and hand/power tools safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, on-site environment.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations and commitment to safe working practices.
- Experience in a manufacturing, facilities, or industrial setting is beneficial.
