Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 base, subject to experience, plus £14,773 shift allowance, total £59,539 per year based on £45,000
The Job
This is a great opportunity for a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer (mechanically or electrically bias) to broaden their skills and effectively manage a variety of maintenance responsibilities for a global armour technology manufacturer. You will be a valued member of the maintenance team responsible for the upkeep of the sites plant, equipment, and buildings.
We are looking for all levels of ability and experience within the maintenance skillset, whether your recently qualified or have been in the industry for many years – we believe skills can be learnt, a positive can-do attitude is essential

Shift Pattern
This is a rotating continental shift pattern. You work 4 days on, then 4 days off, on 11.25-hour shifts. Shifts rotate between days and nights.

Day shift: 6am to 6pm
- Two unpaid breaks: 30 minutes and 15 minutes

Night shift: 6pm to 6am
- Two unpaid breaks: 30 minutes and 15 minutes
Your rota will confirm whether you are on days or nights for each 4-day block.

What You'll Be Doing
The main responsibilities for the role will include:
- Service, maintain and repair plant, equipment, and building services in line with planned preventative maintenance standards and procedures
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance to minimize downtime and support operational delivery
- Support site EHS compliance by ensuring maintenance activity is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
- Carry out machine tool changes, equipment modifications, and practical engineering improvements
- Support the installation, commissioning, and modification of new plant, machinery, and production equipment
- Install and improve safety systems across plant, equipment, and production areas
- Support the movement, layout change, or reorganisation of production lines and work areas
- Install and modify services required to support site development and manufacturing improvements
- Assist with the implementation of changes to manufacturing processes, providing practical engineering input where required
- Produce and update work instructions for specific maintenance tasks and engineering activities
- Support contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely and to the required standard
- Provide practical engineering support for improvement projects, operational changes, and any other activities requiring maintenance or facilities input

Experience
We are looking for someone with strong practical maintenance experience, ideally gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment. You will bring a confident approach to fault finding, preventative maintenance, and root cause analysis, with the ability to support both planned and reactive maintenance activity.
Essential
- Time served experience as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
- Strong fault finding and root cause analysis skills
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance within a busy manufacturing or production environment
- Good mechanical knowledge, including fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam systems
- Good electrical understanding, ideally including BS 7671
- Experience supporting machine improvements, equipment modifications, and process changes
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience using AI tools, or a willingness to learn and apply AI in the role

- Experience working with compression moulding equipment
- Knowledge of waterjet cutting systems
- City & Guilds, HNC, ONC, or equivalent engineering qualification
- Forklift truck licence
- MEWP licence
