Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
Coalville Panama (Days & Nights) £55,000
Are you an experienced Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a leading UK manufacturing business? We're recruiting for a skilled engineer to join a busy production site in Coalville, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for:
- Planned and reactive maintenance

The Role
As a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs, with a focus on electrical and automation systems.
- Diagnosing faults using PLCs, HMIs, alarms, instrumentation, and electrical test equipment.
- Repairing and maintaining motors, drives, sensors, encoders, servo systems, safety circuits, and other control equipment.
- Supporting control system upgrades and maintaining accurate technical documentation.
- Completing inspections, testing, calibration, adjustments, and safety checks.
- Completing mechanical tasks such as bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, and alignment.
- Performing routine maintenance on site services including boilers, compressors, chillers, fire and sprinkler systems, and water hygiene systems.
- Investigating recurring equipment faults, identifying root causes, and working with Production and Engineering teams to implement long-term solutions.
- Maintaining accurate records using the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assisting with the installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of new or modified equipment.
- Participating in training and developing skills across a range of production equipment and maintenance disciplines.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
- At least 3 years' maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- A good understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
