Role Overview

An exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in the UK. Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support their operations on a full-time, permanent basis.

In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing electrical and mechanical equipment throughout the production cycle. Your work will ensure that machinery runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently, contributing significantly to ongoing operational excellence.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as the Maintenance Engineer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Provide comprehensive multi-skilled maintenance support to the manufacturing department, ensuring machinery reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and modification of electrical and mechanical equipment, aligned with business needs.
  • Troubleshoot reactive repairs and develop preventative maintenance plans, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement cost-effective solutions to improve machinery performance, minimize downtime, and enhance safety standards.
  • As the Maintenance Engineer, you will liaise with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth and compliant maintenance operations.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Maintenance Engineer we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • A Degree or higher level in an engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
  • Proven experience in a similar engineering maintenance role, ideally within a highly regulated ‘clean room’ environment.
  • Good knowledge of current regulations, safety standards, and GMP compliance in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated setting.
  • Competent in working with electrical and mechanical systems, with COMPEX certification and experience working in ATEX areas being advantageous.
  • As the Maintenance Engineer, you will demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
