Maintenance Engineer

Location: Coventry

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000

Hours: Monday to Friday (days) - early finish on Fridays

Company Overview

An established UK-based manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join its engineering team at a busy production facility in Coventry.

Working within a small engineering department, you'll play a key role in supporting site operations, ensuring equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvements across the plant.

The position would suit an engineer who enjoys a hands-on role, can work independently, and is comfortable operating within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventive maintenance activities across a range of production assets.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Supporting equipment upgrades, modifications, and improvement projects.
  • Completing maintenance documentation and updating electronic maintenance records.
  • Identifying recurring issues and contributing to long-term reliability improvements.
  • Assisting with equipment installation, refurbishment, and general engineering projects.
  • Monitoring spare parts usage and supporting stock control activities.
  • Working closely with operational teams to maintain efficient plant performance.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to diagnose basic electrical control faults.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, maintenance manuals, or engineering documentation.
  • Fabrication and welding experience desirable.
